Wow, Wow, Wow!

Okay, we’ve been boring people on Facebook ALL DAY with campy wedding status updates in celebration of our 20th anniversary so I won’t post much on Rudy’s Beat tonight but we can’t let the day pass without mentioning the special celebration today holds for me and Rolf.  It has been a fun day of reminiscing and reflection over all that has transpired in the last two decades.  We certainly couldn’t have imagined all the “points of interest” in this journey of ours that have led us to where we are today…settled in Santa Barbara with our precious family of four – but there is little I would change if we had it to do all over again.   Each bend, each twist, each adjustment we have faced in our life together has drawn us closer to each other and more dependent on God whose presence has been our hope and our strength.  Here’s hoping for 20 more!

Celebrating 20 years!! November 7, 2012
Our first date included a walk on the beach in Malibu…we’ve got a bit more company on our beach walks now! 🙂

The icing on top of the wedding cake came in the form of a confirmation letter from “Make-a-Wish” yesterday granting Rudy a special visit to “Give Kids The World”!!!!  It’s official…we’re headed to Florida in January!  Yay!!!!  How very humbled and grateful we are…

Very special!

  1. What a great cherry on top of a wonderful day! So thrilled that the whole family will get to enjoy Disney World together!! What a blessing for a family that blesses so many others through lives lived with love, purpose and faith!

  2. Fantastic all the way around. I couldn’t say it better than Uncle Steve. I think you should wish for another 20 years times two, at least, because you deserve a very loooooooong and happy life together.

  3. Yay, so excited you get to go to Florida! Mike might even be in Orlando part of the time you will be there!

    1. Good question! No, we haven’t traveled very far since bringing Rudy home from the hospital. We made one very long trip to Kansas in a rented RV in 2010 a couple of months before my Dad passed away. It was great to have the extended Wilson family together for a few days but that trip zapped any travel bug we might have had – It was challenging to travel with Rudy. That’s why “Give Kids The World” is such a great destination for us – they are totally set up for kids like Rudy and they arrange EVERYTHING he might need (i.e.Oxygen delivery, etc). I think he’s going to LOVE it…what he’ll love most is sharing all the new experiences he’ll have with his big sibs!

      1. Sounds perfect, Trish! I am so happy for your all. Enjoy, enjoy!! And January just may be the most perfect time to travel to Florida – you won’t die of the heat or humidity!

  10. Congratulations on 20 years! You will LOVE GKTW. It is an amazing place. Garrett’s wish trip is one of our families most treasured memories. It is amazing but I won’t tell you more since I don’t want to ruin all the wonderful surprises they will have in store for you. 🙂

  11. Oh my gosh! I think this is my first comment on your blog but I’ve been a long time follower. Our family is also going to be at Give Kids the World that week in January! We come in on the 20th. Maybe we’ll see you all around the village. And congratulations on 20 years- such an inspiration that you two are still so happy after so many years. 🙂
