Missing him already

We didn't need KU to tell us he was a Hall-of-Famer, but it made us all the more proud!

Rudy’s Grandpa Dick crossed his final finish line this morning.  Trish made it to Kansas and was able to be at his side with her mother and brothers.  I know that she will want to write more when things settle down so a longer post will be forthcoming.  We love you, Grandpa Dick!

  8. Dear Trish. What a privledge it is to be there as he entered our heavenly kingdom. I am so thank you were able to be at his side. I am thankful to have met him last year. What a special heritage you have! Bless you!

  9. Dear Friends. I am so sorry to hear about Dick’s passing today. I held his hand last Sunday as he and I teared up when I found out that there wasn’t anything that could be done. He and your Mom are such sweet people . I have been thinking about you Trish all week. How hard this has been on you to be so far away, to care for Rudy who requires 24/7 special needs, 3 other active children, a husband and the work that you do in CA. I have prayed many times for you. Ruby was blessed to be born to your family as not everyone would handle everything with such grace and peace. You amaze me. But then as I have gotten to know your Dad the last years at First Baptist, it shouldn’t. You seem a lot like him even though I have only met you once at FBC, I feel like I know you through Rudy’s life. He has inspired so many and hopefully brought some to know the Lord through you all. I am leaving for Ariz. tomorrow AM and won’t be back until late Wednesday night and will probably miss the funeral but I wish I could be there and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
