Sadly, our wonderful time away is coming to a close. We fly home to California tomorrow (Friday) and I’m happy to say we’re not leaving with any regrets…we knew we couldn’t see or do it all so we enjoyed what we did do and packed in quite a few new and different experiences in our 8 days in Florida! We’re tired but we’re still laughing (not a whole lot of exhausted bickering going on thankfully) and we’re all leaving with full and happy hearts. Reality will probably hit us hard on Monday morning when we return to the school/work/housework routine but I’m grateful we’ll have the weekend to get settled a bit before we have to run too fast. 🙂 So, here’s our last “sneak peek” post…thanks for all the sweet comments this past week. It has been so much fun sharing this experience with you all…thank you for sharing in our joy!
Day 6-
We spent our last “theme park” day at the Magic Kingdom…Rudy REALLY liked the Tomorrowland Speedway!Wilson got a little permit practice in….Rudy got to ride the “People Mover” while the big kids and Dad went on Space Mountain…soooooo doable with the portable oxygen concentrator!! 🙂We got to meet ALOTTA characters! Including…Buzz Lightyear……and Ariel…(Rudy liked Ariel)……apparently, the feeling was mutual because Ariel gave Rudy a big ol’ kiss!…Next up, Woody!…and Cinderella! Check out Rudy holding Cindy’s hand!Our very own Davy CrockettWe ended our day with the fireworks show…Wilson held Rudy so he could see…precious. The fireworks, the music and this image made me cry. 🙂It was a good day!
Day 7 –
On day 7 it was time for us to pack up and check out of our GKTW villa.Once we were all packed up, Rolf and the big kids tried a simulated skydiving experience nearby.Rudy and I got to watch and it was pretty cool…here’s Wilson flying high with the help of the instructor!
That evening we headed back to GKTW for the “Village Idol” talent show…Olivia and Rudy sang “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and……Max sang a Lumineers song.After the talent show, we made one last stop at the Ice Cream Shop for a scoop of mint chocolate chip…Rudy’s new favorite treat! Yum!
Day 8 –
We spent our last full day in Florida at a nearby hotel to decompress and rest up before our long trip home to CA…we sat by the pool most of the day and enjoyed a couple of onsite activities like……tie dying tshirts and……eating yummy sno-cones!Oh yeah and Rudy likes sno-cones too!Rudy tried hard but just couldn’t keep up with the big kids…he took a long poolside nap! Ahhh, the sign of a good day and a great week of fun! 🙂
Glad that y’all had a great trip!! I sent you guys friend requests on Facebook. Hope that is ok. I have been wearing the bracelet that you gave me. Have a safe trip back to California!

Looks like a fantastic time was had by all! GKTW is an amazing organization and I love those villas and complex they have. I am so grateful for the work they do and the joy that it could bring to all of you! You all deserve it and so much more!
There is so much a trip like this means to families with the challenges of HLRS. Thank you everyone who made this vacation possible for my very special daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. KU volunteers — I hope I get to meet up with you in Jayhawk Land !

I must confess I am a bit teary eyed reading your post and seeing what you all did…and Rudy curled up poolside for a nap. Sweet boy…Sweet family. Love to you all as you come back to SB! You are loved!!!

Every once in a while the Lord brings someone across your path who really touches your heart. When your family came into the Gift Shop at GKTW on Wed, my friend and I who were working there that day were really touched. I wanted you to know that we will add Rudy and you all to our prayer list at our Sunday School class on Sunday. May God bless you all
