We’ll want to write a lengthy wrap-up post once we get home to document all the exciting and tender moments we’re experiencing on this trip but we also can’t wait to share some of our favorite pics so here’s a sneak peak – page 1:
Day One –
It was Christmas at the Village (like it is every Thursday night) the night we arrived and we enjoyed a “meet & greet” with Santa – who gave presents to all the kids!It can’t be Christmas without snow, right? Rudy’s first look at Christmas snow!!
There are rides like this all over the main village area…you can hop on and ride anytime you want! Rudy likes the rides for sure!
Day Two –
Our new friends from KU in the Village Castle of Dreams!Proof of our stop at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Theme Park.
Rudy wasn’t too sure about Shamu at the Village Pirates & Princesses party…ha
Day Three –
An early morning horseback ride!Official wranglers!
After that, a spin on the carousel on our way to breakfast!Day three’s adventure outside the village was at Universal’s Island of Adventure……where we had a Meet & Greet with ALL the Marvel Superheros!!!We ended our day with a poolside dinner……and a movie! ๐ (Rudy rocking the water wheelchair)The big kids having a little fun too! ๐
Do you get any “down time? Now I know why they don’t take grandparents on these trips!! What an experience for all of you. It looks as if Rudy is taking it all in stride–that’s our warrior!
It makes me so happy to see these photos. love the Star Wars one.
Olivia is just shining in all the photos, not only because she is getting so pretty and having fun, but I know she is so happy for her little bro..
I’m so happy to see all your smiling faces!!! I knew you would be overwhelmed by the incredible compassion shown by those at the village, and the unbelievable experiences you will have! Enjoy every minute and take those incredible memories with you!
As one of those KU girls, I am so thrilled to see all of these fabulous pictures and read a little bit about Rudy’s story! To say that your family has inspired our entire group would be the understatement of a century. Meeting you and the kids was one of the most rewarding experiences of our entire time at Give Kids the World, which is quite astounding considering the magic of the village and all of the fabulous families visiting there! I wish you all the best, and cannot wait to keep following your blog and stories! The girls and I are already brainstorming ways to fund another volunteer trip to the village, and hopefully, our paths will cross with yours again someday. I am so blessed to have met you and to have been a part of your experience at GKtW, and hope that you have a fabulous time with your remaining days in the village. Be safe traveling home, and please keep updating!
