Wisely, Rolf turned off Max’s alarm which was set to go off at 6:30am when we went to bed on Christmas Eve and that bought us another hour of sleep Christmas morning. We were awakened by the troops at 7:30am ready to start the day…
The big kids proudly presented their gifts to Rudy first thing…a race car Wilson made in shop class, a teddy bear from Max and a blanket Livy sewed with her Girl Scout sewing skills. I think Rudy was wondering why everyone was home on a weekday and what all the fuss was about but he quickly settled back and watched in amazement at all the excited activity.

Christmas Day 2009 will also be remembered for being the day Rudy had his first shower with Daddy…He is getting much too big for the sponge baths on the kitchen countertop he has been getting and not quite ready for sitting in the bath tub so we thought we’d try something new and he liked it…except when he arched his back and got water all over his face…good thing Daddy has a strong grip…he was a slippery little sucker.
Once we were all cleaned up and dressed, we were off to the Rescue Mission for the Inaugural Santa Barbara Rescue Mission President’s Turkey Bowling Tourney! It was an exciting afternoon of athletic excellence!
So glad you all had a great at home Christmas. Praying 2010 will be a super year for your whole family.
I’m fighting to keep the energy level to type up my response, but I simply can’t let a “sawsquach” (big foot) joke go by…….that must be who was holding Rudy in the shower; either that or a giant chia-pet! You must have to clean that drain on a regualr basis. 🙂 Looks like you had a blessed Christmas and I am so glad for you all. I got everything that of my hearts desire, plus Santa decided to give me the swine flu to boot……fat bast***! Feeling like crap and yet so blessed to have people like you all in my life. Merry Christmas! p.s- I’m kind of drugged up on medicine from the Doc, so if this all sounded weird, I apologize. 🙂
Pure joy of having a slinky and big red ball! Wishing Rudy a great 2010!
Wow! As I watched the video I couldn’t help but think what great parents you are…at the end of a long day and still playing with and encouraging your little guy. Just like the One we celebrate at Christmas, Rudy is blessed to have been given such a wonderful earthly family in which to be raised, nurtured and loved. You guys are so special! May you be blessed this holiday and in the New Year to come!! Love you!!
Sooo happy you all were home to celebrate this Christmas together!! Wishing all of you God’s blessings in 2010. Love, Jane and Joe
Happy Boxing Day to you all! Love the pictures and video…..So much love and fun….
Love you!
we always read before bed, will have to try the slinky with the grandkids, ha……Rudy always puts a smile on my face, when he smiles; we all smile….the best gift ever, you were all together for Christmas, Nick’s Grandma
Ho! Ho! Ho! We are dug out of the snow. Steve’s will be with us tomorrow to celebrate Christmas AND Dad’s birthday. We are going to get these activities in while we can! We will be thinking of YOU. Becky and Bill may come by, too. Wish you were here.
Love to all…………………………………………….
