In the wake of Katie’s passing with grief and much concern for Alan, Vickie and their families, it is hard to know where to go with our own updates about Rudy…so many thoughts and feelings to process and yet, many of you are eager to know what’s going on today…I feel the need to post a more “thoughtful” update but for now let me just say that Rudy’s surgerical procedure has been cancelled. The doctors had me sign a consent form last night “just in case” but the xrays came back looking good and after the rounds this morning, they decided the procedure wasn’t necessary. I will share more later and, as always, thank you for your prayers!
Thank you, Lord for this good news. We keep on praying hourly for you and Rudy.
I pray constantly for little Rudy and all of you. Thank goodness for the good news. Blessings, Donna
Great news! Thanks for the brief update. Guess Rudy wanted to be able to spend more time with Grandma Jo before she leaves!! Praying for good sprints today and vent-freedom in the near future.
Praise God for these great news !

praising God for wonderful news for you all!
You don’t know me but I have been following your blog from Katie’s. Her mom was my son’s first grade teacher and she was a blessing for our family. We will continue to check on Rudy and pray for his strength and continued success.
Yeah Rudy! Way to go! So happy no surgery for you today.
We will keep praying until you are healthy and home with your dear family.
Rudy,
Please ask your mom and dad if you can have a prayer quilt. My friend has offered to make one for you. She just needs their OK, and also your specific prayer requests. Just let me know and I will get that going for you. I know you are already covered in prayer by so many of us, but this is a more snuggly kind of prayer coverage.
Hugs and kisses from my family to you and yours.
Love,
Bonnie Lisama
What a mixture of joy and sadness!!! Thank you Jesus for Katie’s rest and Rudy’s good report! Loves to you all!

I’m so glad to hear Rudy didn’t need the surgery. I pray for special comfort for you two as you process Katie’s passing, too. I can only imagine the feelings that raises for you in the midst of your own journey with HLHS. Blessings.
Hi Rudy and parents! Just hopped over from sweet Katie Manning’s page. I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself. I’m Kerri Pennington, mom to Mary Clare, my 16-month-old HLHS baby girl. Every night I get online, usually to update my own blog, and I check in on my HLHS buddies. It is always so difficult to read about other babies that are struggling or have lost their fight with HLHS. It can be an ugly disease. Mary Clare is my gift from God that is doing wonderfully. She has had her Norwood and Glenn. We have certainly had our bumps in the road along the way and I continue to appreciate each moment I have with her. I just wanted to show you that life with HLHS can be a wonderful life. My Mary Clare has taught me so much about myself, about life, but most importantly, about God’s amazing Grace. Rudy is such a cutie! It is wonderful to “get to know you!”
Yeah Rudy!!!
This is very good news. We love you guys!
Rolf and Trish,
embrace those happy feelings. You are one step closer to taking your beautiful son home! We continue to hope and pray that you get to do all of the things we got to do with our angel, and a whole lot more. We sincerely appreciate all of your support, but now, please save all of your energy for that strong little boy of yours. We’re pulling for you Rudy and we look forward to the day that we can tell you all about our Munchkin.
-Alan & Vickie

Bless be to God! Great news!
